Following are some of the services offered

METAL ROOFING

Preferred method is "retro-fit. This is basically installing the metal panels over existing shingles. This results in less impact on the environment and better insulating of the home

Preparation: Removal of shingle-overhang at gables & eves and drip-edge at eves (occasionally at gables also). Very little material to the land-fill.

Barrier:  It is required to have spacing between the shingles and metal panels. Felt/tar-paper and/or synthetic underlayment, in my opinion, is not sufficient, due to lack of thickness, and the vapor barrier properties are not necessary. The purpose of the spacing is to prevent the shingle gravel from damaging the panels during expansion/contraction.
I recommend  ¼" fan-fold insulation if roof is sound. If roof is not sufficiently sound I recommend the use of 1x4 strips secured to rafters with screws through shingles and plywood which provides a "dead air space".
Insulation, in this case, is not necessary but may be a good idea

    Options:
  • Simple or architectural eve trim with or without closures.
  • Vented or closed ridge.  i.e.: Mesh or foam closures.
  • 2 different panel profiles. PBR (commercial), AG (residential/agricultural).
