Quote it right

Is it just semantics? Or does the wording make a difference? I've searched a few times and have not found where the WORD says "the truth shall set you free." I have found in John 8:32.  "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
In my opinion, which is often wrong, the way it's worded in the Bible is much more emphatic that the misquotes I hear repeatedly. When I hear "the truth shall set you free", in my mind it says " the truth shall let go of you." However, in context, from the Bible,(" And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free") I hear " the truth that you know shall be an active force in your life and cause you to be free."
I would like to know your take on this little rant. Please leave a comment.

that is pretty good. If a person doesn't
know the truth its not gonna do anygood.
A person has to hear it first & then the person will know it. Once the person hears it;then it is up to the person what they do with it once they hear the truth..
Meaning John 8:32.
To put it all in one simple truth....it is
then between the person & the lord as to
whether the person accepts it or not.
The person goes thru life & never accepts the truth after hearing it & then they pass away;the person can not
say they have not heard...John 8:32.

Yes! Amen. Some of us listen but do not hear. Some hear but dismiss. We must listen to the Truth, hear the Truth, and accept the Truth. Then we know the Truth. Jesus is Truth.
