Geraldine (Flip Wilson) was wrong. I did it myself; whatever it was.
Adam never said "it's Eve's fault". We misunderstand that that's what he meant. Gen.3:12. "And the man said, 'The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave (offered) me of the tree, and I did eat'." We have been conditioned to think he blamed Eve. He simply stated a fact.
James.1:14. "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed." Satan uses every tool he can to get to us. 1 Peter 5:8. "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" The method (the reason, the "because of", the excuse) is never at fault, the method is used by our enemy; neither is the Accuser of the Brethren, he's just doing his job. Regardless of by which avenue the temptation arrives, we cannot blame the road; although, through a poor choice of words, it often sounds like we're blaming the conduit.
Despite what I say or how I say it, it is not your fault that "I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight," (Luke 15:21).
